The flood peak in the southwest Queensland city of St George has been revised down, raising hopes the local community will escape a significant disaster. Nationals Senate Chief Barnaby Joyce says the Balonne River, which has previously hit report amounts in St George, is now predicted to peak underneath the predicted 15 metres.
